Rosacea

Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin condition causing facial redness, flushing, and sensitivity. While not curable, it can be effectively managed with proper treatments and lifestyle adjustments.

Rosacea

‘Simply put, rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin condition where facial skin becomes highly sensitive, causing blood vessels to overreact.’

1️⃣ What kind of condition is it?

https://www.rosacea.org/patients/materials/understanding-rosacea/what-is-rosacea

It typically appears on the cheeks, nose, forehead, and chin.

Symptoms include frequent facial redness,

burning or stinging sensations,

and sometimes bumpy, acne-like breakouts.

👉 The important point is

that it is not just a simple breakout or allergy,

but a state where the skin’s blood vessels and inflammatory responses have become highly sensitized.

This is the key difference from other conditions that cause facial redness and flushing!

Cases with only erythema / May be accompanied by telangiectasia (visible blood vessels) / Pimples (may include acne-like inflammation) / Phymatous (rhinophyma) where the nose becomes irregular and bumpy / Ocular rosacea affecting the eyes, potentially causing blepharitis, episcleritis, conjunctivitis, iritis, or keratitis.

2️⃣ Why does it occur?

There is no single exact cause; rather, multiple factors overlap:

Weakened skin barrier

A genetic predisposition to easily dilated facial blood vessels

UV rays, heat, and stress

Frequent peeling, laser treatments, or harsh cosmetics

Prolonged use of steroid ointments

Because of this,

many people feel that ‘their skin has thinned’ or ‘everything they apply stings.’

3️⃣ Is it contagious? Can it be cured?

❌ It is not a contagious disease.

✔️ It is also not life-threatening.

However,

👉 **like diabetes or high blood pressure, it cannot be completely cured.

It is best understood not as a condition to ‘cure,’ but as a disease that requires consistent management to prevent worsening.**

4️⃣ How is it treated?

There is only one treatment goal:

‘To soothe redness and inflammation, and make the skin less sensitive.’

Therefore, usually,

the most important step is adopting a lifestyle that minimizes irritation and correcting your cosmetic routine.

It is highly beneficial to undergo consistent, fundamental treatments using radiofrequency (Thermage, Density) and collagen boosters (Juvelook, Radiesse) to stabilize blood vessels and inflammatory responses while improving the skin barrier.

If the skin barrier is severely damaged and there is intense burning or severe inflammation, it is very helpful to put out the urgent fire with LDM, Rejuran, or Skin Botox to soothe and regenerate the skin.

*Note (LDM: Localized Dynamic Micromassage)

This is a non-invasive ‘Water Drop Lifting’ device that uses high-density ultrasound energy to stimulate skin cells, promoting regeneration and boosting the immune system.

It draws moisture into the dermal layer, providing powerful hydration, improving elasticity, and effectively soothing acne and redness. With almost no pain or redness during the procedure, it is a healing treatment safe even for sensitive skin.

The sensation is like being rubbed with warm stones, making you feel so relaxed you might even fall asleep ^^

*Note (Rejuran)

‘Rejuran is not a filler that plumps the skin,

but a regenerative injection that restores the skin itself.’

1) What is Rejuran?

It is a skin booster made of PN (Polynucleotide) extracted from salmon DNA.

It helps damaged skin recover on its own.

2) What are the effects?

Smoother skin texture

Improvement of inner dryness

Reduction of fine lines

Overall enhancement of skin elasticity and condition

👉 In other words, you can think of it as a **‘treatment that builds skin stamina.’**

3) It is highly recommended for:

Those with thinned and sensitive skin

Those with slow recovery after laser treatments

Those who want to naturally improve their skin condition

4) Procedure Method

For Rejuran, the injection method—such as manual injection or using an injector like Hycoox or Derma Shine—is determined based on skin thickness, degree of damage, and the presence of pores and scars.

👉 With consistent treatment,

redness, burning sensations, and breakouts can all significantly improve.

5️⃣ A message we really want to share with our patients

‘Management is the key to rosacea.’

Even after improving,

it can worsen again due to UV rays, heat, excessive procedures, or poor lifestyle habits.

Conversely, with slow and steady management, you can maintain a much more comfortable skin condition.

That is why

👉 we will create a gentle, tailored treatment plan that perfectly suits your current skin condition.
